Ladies Ride Clinic

DSG Brand Ambassadors

Susie and Kylee participated in the 15th Annual Ladies Ride in Halfway, Oregon!

The event brought together over 50 ladies all the way from Ontario, Canada, Michigan, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington! This year, the ride hosted a Ride Rasmussen Clinic that was attended by 12 ladies.

The gals who didn’t participate in the clinic and just came to ride were lucky to have some great group leaders including our very own brand ambassador Susie!

This was Susie 9th year going to the ride. Her first year attending the event was in 2007, the year the event was moved from McCall, ID to Halfway, OR. It was Kylee’s second year, and she was the big winner of the first annual Jimmy Fallon lip-sync competition.

DSG was one of the many sponsors of this clinic, and donated a few items for the raffle. Over $2,100 was raised at the raffle and will benefit Pink Ribbon Riders. DSG was happy to support this event for such a great cause and for our wild west ladies!

Susie reports that while the snow was hard-pack, it didn’t damper the spirit of the event, as one might expect. "This year was #15 for the Ladies Ride, pretty incredible to think that it just keeps going and growing. A big part of that was displayed this past weekend. The ride has become more than a “ride”, it has become a community. I would say that out of the 53 that attended this year, 40 percent were first timers and they were welcomed right in and shown the ropes. We had girls from Ontario, Canada, Michigan, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington this year. The snow was hard pack, but the sun was out and everyone made the best of it. Along with the ride, we hosted a Rasmussen clinic and those girls worked their tails off!

I am very proud to say that the girls are making this ride theirs. This year Tammy, Susie, Linda, Jen, Suzanne all took on big roles in making this a great event. Thank you SO much! And Marmot showed up with maps, HUGE!  Mama Liz and Janice raised $75 and fed us all Thursday night!

And the rest of the girls showed a huge leap in independence. By the time we hit the parking lot each morning, groups were already decided. This was incredible to watch. I am really impressed!

The weekend ended with thousands of dollars in prizes (thanks to the companies in our cover photo) being raffled off with the proceeds going to Pink Ribbon Riders and then a great night of dancing."

“Thank you to everyone that attended. I didn’t get much time with some of you, but know that your presence is felt! Here’s to the next 15 years of growing and expanding this fun little sport!”
