Venison Short Ribs

I have heard a lot of hunters say that they don't know what to do with their venison short ribs or how to prepare them. Well, here is the perfect, super simple recipe for you! This recipe requires a little bit of prep time, but these ribs will turn out super tender. Guaranteed to be a family favorite! 

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of venison short ribs
  • 4 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • Your choice of dry rub (I used Puckett's All Purpose Seasoning rub)
  • Your choice of BBQ sauce (I used Masterfood's BBQ ribs)

Prep work:

  1. Preheat oven to 275 F.
  2. Put dry rub generously all over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Add minced garlic over the ribs.
  4. Sprinkle onions over the ribs.
  5. Wrap ribs in foil and place in the oven for 2 1/2 hours.

Dierctions:

  1. Take the ribs out of the oven and let cool until you can carefully unwrap the ribs.
  2. Brush off minced garlic and onions.
  3. Turn on grill to medium heat.
  4. Coat ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
  5. Put ribs on grill for 10-15 minutes. You just want the ribs to have the charred grilled taste. Careful not to overcook.
  6. Take off the grill and serve!

It is as simple as that! I paired these ribs with some seasoned potatoes and roasted vegetables.
